Minister Victor Parlicov had a discussion with Sanna Marin, Strategic Advisor at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change

Energy Minister Victor Parlicov had a meeting with Sanna Marin, former Prime Minister of Finland, currently strategic advisor at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, which promotes good governance in countries undergoing democratic consolidation and supports structural reforms.
The discussion focused on the priorities of the Ministry of Energy and the support needed to reach the 2050 decarbonization target, with Sanna Marin being a green energy advocate. Victor Parlicov described the current situation in the energy sector and the actions taken to overcome the energy crisis including Russia's war in Ukraine.
The minister reported on the upward development of renewables in recent years and the legislative changes that have supported the sector's development, as well as the need to improve financing instruments, in particular the accessibility of longer-term credits. He also emphasized the enormous potential for energy savings in the residential sector, which will implicitly lead to lower bills for the population.
"As long as 50% of the energy is lost in buildings, the price of energy resources does not matter and it is important to understand that investments in energy efficiency are recovered from the saving of resources. The Ministry of Energy is preparing financing programs for the residential as well as the public sector, which will be launched next year," said Victor Parlicov.
