The Ministry of Energy Supports Social Dialogue and Cooperation with Trade Union Partners in the Energy and Industrial Sectors

Cristina Pereteatcu, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Energy, participated in the 8th Congress of the Federation of Trade Unions of Workers in the Chemical Industry and Energy Resources of the Republic of Moldova (FSCRE), held today in Chișinău under the theme “Organizing for a Just and Fair Future.”

 

The event was attended by Igor Zubcu, President of the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (CNSM), representatives of public authorities, the business community, as well as delegates from 18 primary trade union organizations that are members of the FSCRE.

 

The Congress brought together trade union leaders from across the country to discuss the Federation’s strategic directions for 2025–2030, focusing on strengthening the trade union movement, protecting workers’ professional and social rights, and promoting constructive dialogue with authorities and employers.

 

During the event, Secretary of State Cristina Pereteatcu emphasized the importance of social partnership in the modernization of the energy and industrial sectors:

 

“The Ministry of Energy values the work of the Federation of Trade Unions of Workers in the Chemical Industry and Energy Resources, an organization with a long history and a significant contribution to the protection of employees’ rights. We believe that open dialogue and institutional cooperation between the Ministry and trade union partners are essential for the balanced, sustainable, and fair development of the energy sector.”

 

The Federation of Trade Unions of Workers in the Chemical Industry and Energy Resources (FSCRE) is one of the most important trade union organizations in the Republic of Moldova, with a tradition of more than eight decades in defending the professional, economic, and social interests of workers in the energy, chemical, and natural resources sectors. The Federation unites thousands of members from industrial enterprises, laboratories, power plants, and production units across the country.

 

The Ministry of Energy reaffirms its commitment to maintaining and strengthening social dialogue with trade union partners, viewing this cooperation as a key pillar for good governance of the sector and for ensuring a balance between economic development and the social protection of employees.
