The Ministry of Energy is working on a single platform for energy management and unification of the format of the Numbers of Consumption Sites

The Ministry of Energy will create a national energy management platform that will include data from all service providers in the energy and water supply sector. The concept and its benefits were discussed today with representatives of sector companies, the National Energy Regulatory Agency, the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency and other sector stakeholders.
State Secretary Cristina Pereteatcu said that the platform will improve governance, control and response time in the energy system. "With the overall objective to decarbonize the energy sector by 2050, the quality of data to forecast and assess the impact of policies is essential. This platform will help us bring order to the sector, including supporting the flattening of the consumption curve and the transition to green energy," said Cristina Pereteatcu.
The Secretary of State recalled that, as part of a pilot project, 35 thousand smart meters will be installed, and these consumers will also be able to benefit, in a test regime, from differentiated electricity tariffs according to the time of day. The energy management platform will analyze consumption data.
Another proposal discussed today concerns the creation of a single register of places of consumption for energy and other utilities. Unified NLCs will have a single format, currently the same supplier has several types of NLCs, and will have multiple references such as postal address, cadastral number, geolocation, etc., and will be available for all fixed location services.
Unification of the format of the Place of Consumption Numbers and the creation of a single register of them will enable the creation of the consumer's personal cabinet with information about all services and transactions that can be performed, including their payment; the possibility to offer unified payment services for payment for both multiple service providers and for multiple places of consumption owned by one citizen; providing a more informed and accurately targeted social assistance package based on aggregated data of expenditure in vulnerable households; NLC could serve as an exact location for accident intervention in case of lack of an exact address. Also, aggregated data can be used for credit scoring and increased beneficiary credibility for lending institutions.
