Partnerships for Moldova’s Energy Infrastructure Discussed by the Ministry of Energy and the National Union of Romanian Employers

Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu held a meeting with representatives of the National Union of Romanian Employers (UNPR), during which the directions of a partnership were established to involve Romanian businesses in energy infrastructure projects in the Republic of Moldova.
The discussions focused particularly on energy efficiency measures to reduce consumption and energy losses, as well as on the modernization of electricity transmission and distribution networks, strengthening interconnections with Romania, and developing renewable energy sources.
The UNPR initiative aims to create a stable framework for collaboration between the Romanian business environment and Moldovan state institutions, so that member companies can participate in tenders for the construction of critical infrastructure projects and contribute to the sustainable development of the energy sector.
Minister Dorin Junghietu emphasized that, given the expertise and capabilities of Romanian companies operating in a larger market and under European Union rules, the involvement of Romanian businesses in Moldova’s energy infrastructure projects is important for strengthening regional energy security, increasing network resilience, and creating a framework for sustainable development.
