On January 29, the Ministry of Energy invites you to the Investors’ Conference, an event dedicated to the next major step in the development of renewable energy in the Republic of Moldova: the launch of the new auction for onshore wind energy and modern energy storage systems (BESS).

The conference will bring together decision-makers, investors, and industry experts, providing a platform for dialogue on the strategic directions of Moldova’s energy transition and concrete investment opportunities.

The discussion agenda will include the auction procedure and eligibility criteria for wind and storage projects, the “fixed price / variable premium” support mechanism, the auction timeline, as well as investors’ obligations regarding the construction, operation, and maintenance of wind farms and storage systems.

We remind you that the second round of auctions for large-scale renewable energy capacities targets the construction of onshore wind farms with a total capacity of up to 170 MW, with the obligation, under free-market conditions, to install energy storage systems (BESS) of at least 0.25 MWh for each MW of wind capacity.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is supporting the Ministry of Energy in the ongoing auction through technical assistance financed by the European Union and EBRD shareholders.
