The energy sector is a very dynamic one with multiple achievements in the last year, but also with development prospects and opportunities for professional growth, said Energy Minister Victor Parlicov at the end of the first round of the internship program under the Moldova Energy Security Project (MESA), with the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

"It is difficult to build the future of a country with a very high percentage of people who want to emigrate. Programs like this provide young people with opportunities and chances to fulfill themselves at home in Moldova. I am proud that in this way we can restore hope and, in the long term, strengthen our country's energy security, for which we have worked for many years," said Minister Parlicov, thanking the US Government for its support.

Four of the six young people who interned at the ministry were recently hired, among them Doina Dinga from the natural gas directorate. "My objective for this internship was to integrate as much as possible into the work of the Ministry of Energy, as I aspired to get a permanent position at the ministry after the internship," she gave details.

Arian Vremea, another young man, did his internship at RED Nord, so he was able to analyze the cybersecurity breaches of the company, and today he is newly employed in this state-owned enterprise and ready to strengthen this component.

During 6 months, 22 young people, engineers, economists, lawyers, IT specialists and business administration managers, benefited from paid internships in 8 entities in the energy sector: the Ministry of Energy, the National Agency for Energy Regulation of Moldova (ANRE), Moldelectrica, Energocom, RED-Nord and CET-Nord, Ecolibri and Term. 70% of the young people managed to get a job in the companies where they did their internship.
