After an eight-month journey, which began in March and concluded in November, the RUMA program celebrated its graduates today during an online ceremony. The event brought together participants, program coordinators, and official guests, marking the conclusion of an edition dedicated to training future specialists in the energy sector.

Victor Gropa, Senior Consultant within the Electricity Directorate of the Ministry of Energy, also attended the online ceremony, offering a message of encouragement and appreciation to the young participants. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of academic and professional preparation in a sector undergoing major transformation:
“Over these past months, you have gained valuable knowledge that will contribute to your professional development and to the modernization of the energy sector. Continue investing in education and making your mark in technical fields — we need dedicated and well-prepared specialists.”

The RUMA program was supported through scholarships offered by AC Language School (ACLS) and was aimed at students from the Republic of Moldova studying energy, physics, and mathematics (STEM), both in universities within the country and in educational institutions abroad.

The initiative was part of a broader regional partnership through which scholarships were offered to young people from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine, with the goal of developing relevant skills for the future of the energy sector.

The program curriculum covered fundamental topics essential for understanding and developing the energy industry:

• energy policies

• energy economics

• renewable energy sources

• nuclear and fossil energy

• sustainability

• emerging technologies

Participants benefited from courses taught by international specialists with extensive experience in industry, research, and education, who have collaborated with prestigious companies and institutions such as Shell, Duke Energy International, Pemex, and Aramco. Through their expertise, they provided a practical perspective on the challenges and opportunities in the global energy sector.
