The Ministry of Energy organized on Friday, June 23, a new round of consultations with the economic agents affected by the Commission for Exceptional Situations' decision of May 31 and who have to choose by July 1 on which gas market they want to remain - the free or the regulated market.

After receiving the calculations of the one-off equity payment from Moldovagaz, eight companies decided to stay with the supplier of last resort. At the same time, there are also economic agents who would have to recover money from Moldovagaz if they decide to leave the free market, which shows that the mechanism introduced by the CSE decision is really a fairness correction, and not a tax or a barrier to market liberalization, as some claim.

ANRE representatives said that the tariff is based on a forecast, and tariff deviations have always been included in its calculation, whether these deviations were positive or negative.
