The progress in the fulfillment of the commitments to reform and transpose the European sectoral legislation in the energy sector was examined during the meeting of the Coordination Council for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding with the French Development Agency (AFD), which was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
AFD has pledged to support the Republic of Moldova with a €40 million loan to finance the needs of the state budget to implement reforms in infrastructure and energy efficiency and renewable energy. The roadmap foresees 36 actions, divided into 6 phases, which Moldova is committed to implement by 2028.
"The contracted loan will accelerate the transition to green energy in the Republic of Moldova by promoting energy security and sustainable development in order to reach the goal of climate neutrality by 2050," said State Secretary Cristina Pereteatcu.
