In Chisinau, 20 public buildings will be reconnected to the centralized heating system, including the headquarters of the Customs Service and the National Anti-Corruption Center. In Balti, 20 territorial offices will be heated this year with centralized heating. Among the offices concerned are those of the North Customs Office, the Balti Multifunctional Center, the territorial offices of the Information and Security Service, the National Anti-Corruption Center, the Moldovan Post Office. Termoelectrica in Chisinau and CET Nord in Balti will complete the commissioning works by 15.11.2023.
The action is the result of the Government Decision No. 489 of 12.07.2023 on the implementation of measures to promote the centralized thermal energy supply system, which recommends public institutions to rationally consume energy resources, both in the context of ensuring the state's energy security and in terms of optimizing financial resources, including with a view to ensuring energy efficiency and producing thermal and electrical energy in cogeneration.
Last year, 24 buildings in Balti and 8 buildings in Chisinau, including the headquarters of the Parliament and the Presidency, were reconnected to the centralized heating systems by a decision of the Commission for Exceptional Situations. In the case of public institutions in Balti alone, the entities concerned saved around 3.2 million lei last cold season, plus another 10 million lei saved by Balti City Hall. Also, the increase in the thermal load of CET Nord generated an additional 5 million kWh of electricity.
