This afternoon, the Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, visited the village of Sireți, Strășeni district, where he met with local authorities and business representatives. During the visit, the minister had the opportunity to assess the progress made by the Sireți Municipality in the field of energy efficiency and to discuss with the management of BlackSea-EMS SRL, a company that produces modules for electric vehicle charging stations in the Bălți Free Economic Zone, Strășeni subzone.

While speaking with local authorities in Sireți, the minister highlighted one of the largest projects in the village — the photovoltaic park, which supports street lighting. This project was implemented with the support of the National Center for Sustainable Energy. The photovoltaic park is a success story in integrating renewable energy sources, contributing to both reducing electricity costs and lowering carbon emissions. The photovoltaic park, with a total capacity of 20 kW, provides street lighting for the village. According to the village’s mayor, Leonid Boaghe, an expansion project up to 200 kW will enable other public institutions in the village to be supplied with renewable energy.

"Promoting energy efficiency projects and harnessing renewable energy is a priority for the Government. Innovative solutions, such as those implemented in this locality, help not only to save financial resources for the local budget but also to protect the environment. If we implemented such measures at the national level, we could significantly reduce the electricity bills of local public authorities," stated Minister Dorin Junghietu.

The minister also emphasized that implementing similar projects in other localities across the Republic of Moldova would help save significant resources and develop a more sustainable energy sector. To support this goal, the Government has introduced measures to help citizens reduce energy consumption by up to 50%.

"We do not have our own resources, such as natural gas, but we can pay less on our bills and reduce pressure on the national energy system by implementing energy efficiency solutions. If we brought the energy efficiency of our buildings to the level of the European Union, we could have energy bills several times lower. People can save money by investing in efficiency measures and renewable energy, such as installing photovoltaic power plants for self-consumption. By the way, since 2018, renewable energy capacities have increased tenfold," added Minister Junghietu.

In Sireți, two kindergartens are already equipped with photovoltaic power plants with a capacity of 15 kW each, which has allowed local authorities to cut energy bills by 50%. Additionally, the municipality is currently implementing a project to build a 200 kW photovoltaic plant through the European Village program, second edition, which will provide the necessary electricity for all public buildings in the village.

During the visit, the minister also visited the company BlackSea-EMS SRL, which produces modules for electric vehicle charging stations in collaboration with Siemens. This company, located in the Strășeni Free Economic Zone, manufactures power modules of 150 and 360 kW, which are highly regarded in several European countries. The company's products are exported to countries such as the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

A company representative highlighted that the decision to open a factory in Moldova was influenced by its proximity to the European Union and the availability of skilled local specialists. Additionally, lower transportation costs and shorter delivery times allow the company to remain competitive in the European market.

The company works closely with the Strășeni Engineering College and the Technical University of Moldova to develop dual education programs and innovative projects, including the construction of high-power charging stations in the Republic of Moldova.

The minister reiterated the government's commitment to supporting the development of green technologies and the training of specialists in engineering and energy, which will help reduce energy costs and create sustainable jobs in various economic sectors. Dorin Junghietu also congratulated the company on producing sophisticated equipment in Moldova, including sourcing part of the raw materials from local producers.
