Energy Efficiency Works in the Republic of Moldova to Be Managed Through a New Information System
- 665 reads
The Government has approved the concept of the Energy Efficiency Information System (SINEE), which will facilitate the management of energy efficiency works and systematize data on energy savings achieved. The new IT solution will be managed by the National Center for Sustainable Energy, and all stakeholders will have access to information in this field.
The system will include seven distinct subsystems, covering the energy performance of buildings, the monitoring and verification of energy savings, and the sustainable use of renewable energy sources.
The portal will provide citizens with public data from all the information subsystems and will ensure online access to the services offered by the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED).
Additionally, the centralization of energy savings data within the system will allow for the efficient planning of measures to increase energy efficiency and harness renewable energy sources, in order to meet national targets. Thus, the system will contribute to Moldova’s goal of reducing final energy consumption by 0.8% annually and lowering energy bills for the population, public authorities, and businesses.
It is worth mentioning that last year, CNED launched the Energy Efficiency Fund for the residential sector, which plans to renovate over half a million square meters of housing.
