Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, participated in the 9th meeting of the Republic of Moldova – European Union Association Council, held in Brussels. The session was chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
In his speech, Minister Dorin Junghietu reiterated that the integration of Moldova’s energy market into the European Union’s market by 2027 is one of the country's key strategic goals.
“We are fully committed to implementing the necessary reforms, aligning regulations, and developing interconnection infrastructure. At the same time, we are accelerating the digitalization of the energy system and promoting investments in renewable sources, particularly in solar and wind projects, to build a safer, more sustainable, and independent energy future with the support of our European partners,” stated Dorin Junghietu.
The agenda of the discussions included topics related to the progress made in Moldova’s European integration process, economic cooperation with EU member states, developments in the energy sector, judicial reforms, anti-corruption efforts, as well as the strengthening of democracy and security.
