The Ministry of Energy, in partnership with the World Bank Group, announces the organization of a conference dedicated to presenting the preliminary results of the Roadmap for Sustainable Heating, in accordance with the Government Decision on the mechanism for public consultation with civil society in the decision-making process.
The event will take place on August 28, 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m., at the Government House, Bănulescu-Bodoni meeting room, 1st floor.
The main purpose of the conference is to support the implementation of the Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU, transposed into national legislation, and to reinforce the Government of the Republic of Moldova’s ambitious commitments on decarbonization and the transition to a sustainable energy sector.
The Roadmap for Sustainable Heating, currently in its preliminary stage and developed with the support of the World Bank, is set to become an essential public policy document within the 2025 National Regulatory Plan, action no. 315 – “Approval of the Program for the Sustainable Development of the Heating Sector.”
This roadmap is designed as a strategic tool to: increase energy efficiency in district heating systems (SACET), promote renewable energy sources, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, modernize heating infrastructure, and integrate clean and sustainable technologies.
The document will also contribute to shaping the updated Energy Strategy and the National Energy and Climate Plan, providing a coherent and long-term vision for the development of the energy sector.
The conference will include a question-and-answer session, during which participants will have the opportunity to actively engage and contribute with relevant proposals and comments. In this regard, the Ministry of Energy encourages all stakeholders to review in advance the interim results of the Roadmap, available in the annex.
