A total of 4,210 consumers across 10 localities lost electricity this afternoon due to adverse weather conditions.

The response teams of the distribution system operators, SA “Premier Energy Distribution” and SA “RED-Nord”, are on-site working to restore the situation and reduce risks and inconvenience to citizens caused by the lack of electricity. In addition, around 43 brigades are on standby to intervene if necessary during this period. Alongside the operational response teams, additional crews have also been mobilized.

It is reminded that for today, from 16:00 until 12:00 on Friday, January 9, a Yellow Code warning for strong winds and heavy snowfall was issued.

The Ministry is monitoring the situation and, together with other authorities and sector entities, is making every effort to minimize risks and ensure the provision of electricity as a public service to all consumers.

For personal safety, the following security rules are recommended:

  • Do not touch fallen or hanging wires on buildings or trees.

  • Mark off the area around broken conductors and prevent access by people or animals.

  • Do not attempt to interfere with electrical installations.

  • Instruct children not to approach cables and to notify an adult immediately.

  • Report any incidents immediately to the distribution system operators at: 022 43 11 11 (Premier Energy Distribution) or +373 231 24201 (RED Nord).
