A total of 11 applications were submitted for the competition to select four out of the seven members of the Board of Directors of the State Enterprise “Moldelectrica,” launched by the selection committee established by the Ministry of Energy.

The application deadline expired on Thursday, April 10, at 5:00 PM. The selection committee now has 20 working days to evaluate the candidates based on assessment criteria (competence, reputation, financial behavior) and eligibility.

The evaluation process will be conducted in two stages:

1. Application review stage;

2. Interview stage.

It is worth recalling that the Ministry of Energy launched the competition to select and appoint, based on merit, at least four of the seven members of the Board of Directors, who must not represent public administration institutions or state-owned enterprises. These commitments were undertaken by the Republic of Moldova as part of the implementation of the European Union’s Third Energy Package, alongside the obligation to unbundle the electricity transmission system operator and to eliminate discriminatory practices and/or conditions that could favor certain participants in the electricity and/or natural gas markets.
