The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection will transfer in advance 200 million lei to the joint-stock company "Termoelectrica" to compensate the prices of thermal energy for vulnerable consumers in the period from November to December 2023. The decision was approved today at the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations convened by Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

Also, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection will transfer in advance another 100 million lei to "CET-Nord" to provide compensation for thermal energy bills of consumers in Balti municipality for the period November-December 2023.

At the same meeting, the CSE members decided to allocate 1.9 million lei from the Government's Intervention Fund for the maintenance of temporary placement centers for refugees. Another 57.8 million lei will be distributed to provide financial incentives to certain categories of employees in the social sphere and to finance social assistance measures for children at risk, including children from refugee families. The financial means have been granted from the United Nations Children's Fund in the Republic of Moldova, on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

Another decision adopted aims to extend until December 22 this year the deadline by which the electricity transmission system operator will issue to the balancing groups the settlement notes for the period June 2022 - August 2023. The previous settlement deadline was November 30. At the same time, the CSE Decision provides clarifications on the application of the equity contribution in case end-users of natural gas decide to switch from the universal supplier to a supplier in the unregulated market. Thus, the CSE Decision clarifies the situation in which a consumer can receive money from the universal gas supplier, if he has registered positive tariff deviations.
