Goods, works, and services procured through the Energy Efficiency Fund will be transferred to beneficiaries under a new Regulation approved by the Government.

The document, developed by the Ministry of Energy with the support of the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNSE), establishes a simplified mechanism that removes bureaucratic steps and ensures quick access to investments for individuals, legal entities, and homeowners’ associations.

Through this mechanism, funded goods and services will be provided free of charge, based on reception documents and fiscal invoices. Beneficiaries will be required to use and maintain the received goods properly, while the Ministry of Energy will oversee the correct implementation of the Regulation.

Thus, the Government aims to accelerate the implementation of energy efficiency projects and create better living conditions for citizens. The application of simplified rules will result in lower bills for consumers and more efficient public buildings.

The Energy Efficiency Fund in the Residential Sector of Moldova is a national program with a budget of 1.4 billion lei, dedicated to financing residential energy rehabilitation projects across the Republic of Moldova. The program supports both multi-apartment blocks and individual households. Over the next three years, more than half a million square meters of housing—approximately 75% residential buildings and 25% individual houses—will undergo renovations, leading to energy savings of up to 40%.

It should be noted that in recent years, the Government has launched several major projects in the field of energy efficiency, including the renovation of 30 public buildings, the energy rehabilitation of 46 schools nationwide, the modernization of 10 hospitals, and other significant investments in 11 healthcare facilities, including hospitals in Florești, Ialoveni, and Nisporeni.
