Energy Minister Victor Parlicov visited several renewable energy projects in the town of Ialoveni and the village of Cărbuna in the same district, realized by local people with the support of development partners. They include a kindergarten, street lighting and individual houses powered by the sun and insulated.

The Lăstărel kindergarten in the town of Ialoveni partly covers its heating and cooling costs from photovoltaic panels, installed with the support of the City Hall and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic through the SlovakAid program. The total cost of the project is €20,000, of which 50% was provided by the donor and 50% by the Ialoveni City Hall. According to Maria Drobot, the director of the kindergarten, thanks to the solar panels, the institution is saving considerable sums of money, which it can invest in better conditions for the children.

Another objective visited by the minister are the three photovoltaic panels in the village of Cărbuna, which were installed under the program "Diaspora at Home Succeeds DAR 1+3". The total value of the project is approximately 570 thousand lei, of which 150 thousand lei were collected from the diaspora, 250 thousand lei came from the Government, 100 thousand lei were provided by the Cărbuna City Hall, and the rest of the money was allocated by the Ialoveni Rayon Council.

Thus, according to the mayor of the village of Cărbuna, Constantin Cecoi, the access to drinking water for the inhabitants of Cărbuna village will no longer depend on the centralized energy source, nor on its price.

"The electricity produced by the newly installed panels will be used to pump drinking water that comes into people's homes from the three artesian wells in the village. These panels will allow us to halve the tariff for drinking water, which is currently 10 lei per cubic meter of water. As of April 2023, when the photovoltaic panels were installed, 142,000 KW of electricity were produced in one year," said the mayor of Cărbuna Constantin Cecoi.

The Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov also visited a tourist guesthouse and a family of parental assistants. They are Aliona and Vladimir Inculeț, beneficiaries of the "Green House" program financed by the European Union and implemented by UNDP Moldova. The family's two biological children got married and moved into their home, so the Inculets decided to take in a girl, but when they filed the paperwork they found out that Daniela has another brother, so they took both of them. Two years ago, they were selected to participate in the Casa Verde program along with 218 other families. The program is to be expanded nationwide by the National Center for Sustainable Energy, CNED.

"We are pleased with the result, because this past winter we had a different warmth from other years. We could already come home from work, and the house was still comfortably warm. Not to mention the summer period, when after the snow outside, it stays cool in the house, because the walls are made of clay, and with the help of thermal insulation it is much easier to maintain the temperature. We are very happy with the project and would be delighted to participate in more initiatives like this. If we had made these investments ourselves, it would have cost us about 3000 euros, including the workers' pay," said Aliona Inculeț.

The Minister of Energy encouraged local public authorities to be active in programs to finance energy efficiency measures, which can reduce energy bills in public buildings and for the population by up to 50%. Victor Parlicov recalled that the Fund for Energy Efficiency in the Residential Sector has been set up, which finances up to 70% of the costs of energy rehabilitation of residential blocks and houses. He emphasized that this is important because most of the buildings in the country are built in Soviet times and do not meet energy efficiency standards.
