Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu paid a working visit to the Cimișlia district, during which he met with local authorities and assessed the implementation progress of important energy efficiency projects in public institutions in the region.

The visit highlighted how investments directed toward infrastructure modernization contribute to energy savings, increased safety, and improved conditions for staff and beneficiaries.

At the Cimișlia District Hospital, several energy modernization works were carried out, directly impacting the efficiency and safety of the buildings. The facade of Inpatient Block No. 2 was thermally insulated as part of a project worth over 2.6 million lei, financed from the state budget. Additionally, the building's roof was completely reconstructed using fire-treated timber and metal tiles, with extended eaves to prevent water infiltration—an investment estimated at 1.5 million lei.

A subdivision of the obstetrics and gynecology department was completely renovated with the support of Swiss organizations, through a project worth €111,000. The work included rehabilitation of internal water, sewage, electrical, and heating systems, ensuring modern conditions for medical staff and patients.

In the village of Ecaterinovca, the local kindergarten was fully modernized through the National “European Village” Program, with an investment of over 2.9 million lei. The old building was thermally rehabilitated, equipped with new installations, and brought up to current standards, offering a safe and efficient environment for preschool children and educational staff.

The beneficiaries of these investments are the local communities—patients, medical personnel, children, and educators—with funding coming from the state budget, external sources, and international partnerships.

“The solutions applied in Cimișlia clearly demonstrate how smart investments can generate significant savings for public authorities while also contributing to environmental protection. Expanding these practices nationwide could lead to a substantial reduction—up to 50%—in energy consumption in the public sector,” said Minister Dorin Junghietu.

For his part, Andrian Talmaci, President of the Cimișlia District, emphasized the positive impact of these projects:

“These modernizations mean more than just thermally insulated buildings—they represent better conditions for patients, children, and staff. It’s an important step toward a more efficient and energy-responsible public administration. We thank all the partners who contributed to these transformations.”

The Ministry of Energy continues to encourage local authorities to expand energy efficiency programs and to strengthen a sustainable future for all regions of the country.
