Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov met with Tinne Van Der Straeten, Minister of Energy of Belgium, and discussed the situation in the energy sector, connection to the vertical corridor, as well as reiterated the importance of the energy efficiency program for residential buildings and attracting investments in the sector. The topic of combating false narratives and deflating the information bubble promoted by Russian propaganda, not only in the Republic of Moldova, was also addressed. Minister Van Der Straeten invited Moldova to join the initiative of the Informal Meeting of Energy Ministers, which aims to discuss one of the priorities of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union: the importance of improving and strengthening energy infrastructures and the challenges we are currently facing.
The meeting with Josef Sikela, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, focused on successful energy projects in the Czech Republic and the openness to offer support to Moldova. The Czech Republic boasts achievements in electric mobility, smart metering, hydrogen and nuclear energy. Of interest was the invitation to Czech companies to invest in Moldova/. On the national market, in the distribution and supply of gas and electricity, an investor from the Czech Republic - the Premier Energy brand - is currently operating. Minister Parlicov appreciated the company's openness to invest in Moldova, while inviting Czech investors to participate in the tender for the production of electricity from renewable sources in Moldova, which will be launched soon.
