Premier Energy Distribution has managed to re-supply all consumers affected by the bad weather of the last few days, and 1328 consumers in Rezina district will be reconnected as soon as RED-Nord will be able to modify the supply scheme. On the stretches to the 5 localities there are multiple ruptures of conductors and damaged pylons. Last night, 1251 consumers in the northern area were reconnected to the grid.

On Tuesday afternoon, Energy Minister Victor Parlicov visited the localities most affected by the bad weather in the Orhei district. The Orhei area is traditionally one of the hardest hit by frost and icing due to its specific topography.

Victor Parlicov inspected the impact of frost and strong winds on the networks and discussed with the distribution system operator officials systemic solutions to reduce the time of reconnection of consumers in case of accidents caused by extreme weather events.

"I have experienced first hand what minus 14 temperatures mean in the open field. I am extremely grateful to the specialists who, during these days of cold and windy weather, have been working to ensure that all consumers have access to light and heat, things we have become accustomed to having without thinking about how they reach our homes," said the Energy Minister.

In total, about 80 thousand consumers were left without electricity as a result of the consequences of the cyclone.

Due to frost/ice and ice on overhead power lines and trees, as well as low temperatures, some areas of the country are still at risk of broken conductors.
