The State Enterprise “Moldelectrica,” as the Transmission System Operator of the Republic of Moldova, informs that, in accordance with the Decision of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) No. 276 of May 30, 2025, new regulations establishing the operational framework for the System Services Market and the Balancing Electricity Market have come into force. These regulations were developed following amendments to the Electricity Market Rules and the regulatory framework approved by ANRE, marking an important step in the process of strengthening and modernizing Moldova’s electricity market.
The launch of these markets represents a key step toward ensuring a more stable and reliable power system capable of meeting current security and flexibility requirements. The System Services Market will help maintain electricity quality parameters and ensure the safe operation of the transmission network, while the Balancing Electricity Market will allow real-time correction of imbalances between consumption and production, thereby enhancing system balance and stability.
The implementation of these mechanisms creates the conditions for a more transparent and competitive market aligned with European standards, offering participants the opportunity to actively contribute to balancing processes and the development of a more efficient and sustainable energy sector. At the same time, the new rules pave the way for the gradual integration of renewable energy sources and for expanding the framework necessary for Moldova’s participation in the regional and European electricity market.
Additional information on market operation, participation conditions, and applicable regulations is available on the official website of SE “Moldelectrica” in the Electricity Market section.
