The Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, recently undertook a working visit to Kiev, where he discussed with his Ukrainian counterpart, Gherman Galushchenko. The parties discussed the continued collaboration to ensure the energy security of both countries.

 

Particular attention was paid to the issues of energy security of both countries, the development of alternative gas supply routes, electricity supply and the integration of energy markets. The parties emphasized the need to coordinate cooperation with the European Union.

 

The Moldovan side expressed its interest in using underground gas deposits in Ukraine to form gas reserves.

 

Also, aspects of collaboration in the field of electricity and possible directions of Ukraine's assistance to ensure the supply of electricity to consumers in Moldova were discussed. The importance of maintaining the ENTSO-E limits for the possibilities of importing electricity to Ukraine and Moldova from European countries was emphasized.

 

The parties stressed their willingness to continue cooperation in the energy sector, especially to achieve the common goals of European integration.

 

The Moldovan delegation, which also included representatives of Energocom, also met with the management of D.Trading and Naftogaz Ukraine. The parties appreciated the commercial cooperation between Energocom and Ukrainian energy companies, and reviewed the opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation.
