On Friday, Cristina Pereteatcu, State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, participated in the opening of the 19th edition of the Youth Commission Forum “Young FSCRE Trade Union Leader.” The event, organized by the Federation of Trade Unions of Workers in the Chemical Industry and Energy Resources (FSCRE), is taking place from May 16 to 18, 2025, in Chișinău.
In her speech, Cristina Pereteatcu emphasized the importance of youth involvement in social dialogue and decision-making processes that shape the future of the labor market and the energy sector:
“We are living in a time of major transformations: the energy transition, digitalization, labor sector reforms, and climate change are just a few of the challenges pushing us to rethink not only public policies but also how we engage with social partners.”
Cristina Pereteatcu congratulated the organizers for launching the “Young FSCRE Trade Union Leader” competition, highlighting that such an initiative fosters leadership among young people and strengthens a sustainable trade union movement.
“The Ministry of Energy remains an open partner to trade unions and a supporter of constructive dialogue based on mutual respect, transparency, and trust,” the State Secretary stated at the opening event.
The forum brings together national-level trade union leaders as well as a group of 50 young trade unionists from FSCRE’s Primary Trade Union Organizations. Its main goal is to train and support the new generation of trade union leaders.
Over the three days of the forum, participants will engage in key topics such as workers’ rights, collective bargaining, trade union communication, conflict management, and leadership strategies.
